Baptisms in English are scheduled for the first and third Saturday of each month at 10 a.m. in the church.  Before making any arrangements, we would like the parents to go the parish office to register their children.  At the moment of the registration, we ask that you bring a copy of the child’s birth certificate.  At the moment of the registration we also ask that the family give a contribution to the parish, which is left completely at their discretion.

We ask that the parents and godparents attend the parish pre-baptismal preparation.  The classes are taught the third Monday of every month at 7 p.m. in the chapel.

The norms of the Catholic Church state that it is necessary to have only one godparent or godmother.  The maximum that there can be is only two and one has to be a female and a male.  In order to be a godparent, the person must be baptized, have made their first communion and confirmation in the Catholic Church, as well as practicing the Catholic faith.  If the people that are going to be godparents are living together, that union must of have been officiated in the Catholic Church.  If a couple who is only living together and are not married in the Catholic Church, even if they are only married civilly, unfortunately cannot act as godparents.

What is needed

Please do not bring the child with their white garment.  After the child has been baptized, the white garment will be placed on him/her.  Please bring the white garment with you as well as a candle.  If you are in need of a candle, we do have some in the parish office for sale.   After the baptism, there will be a moment where the child will be dressed with their white garment.
